| Scottish football manager. One of British football's most successful managers, he has won 15 trophies with Manchester United since 1986, including seven league championship titles and four FA Cups. In 1999 Manchester United became the first club to achieve the league championship and FA Cup double three times. The club also won the European Cup the same year, thus achieving a unique treble in English football. As manager of Aberdeen from 1978 to 1986, he won ten trophies including three Scottish championships and the European Cup Winners' Cup. He was manager of the Scottish national side 1985-86. |
