Albertsen was a midfielder with a steady and hard-working pace. This made him the favorite player in every club and gave him the fame of scoring the equalizer. He began in Tyssedal and Odda and later joined Den Haag when he was only 17. He was then transferred to Fevenoord only for a year, going back to Deen Haag before he moved again after a year to Winterslag in Belgium. He gave the national team of Norway a couple of good games.
