Career Highlights: Won bronze medal at both 1997 World Indoor and Outdoor Championships; 2nd at 2000 Olympic Trials; 1992 NCAA indoor 800 champion. Kenah first became interested in running when he traveled to road races as a child to watch his father, a New Jersey state champion at 880. Kenah earned his degree in business (international marketing) has worked part-time in the off-season assisting top NBA agent David Falk. Married distance runner Cheri Goddard on September 26, 1997. In 1996, Kenah vowed to retire from the sport if he did not make the Olympic team. He explains, 'Cheri and I were getting married soon and I was making no great living by running'...several factors changed his mind, one of them being a long conversation he had with now-USATF CEO Craig Masback: 'He helped me put running in the proper perspective, and convinced me not to be in a hurry to move on. He said I would regret it if I gave up chasing my dreams.' The next year, Kenah won the bronze medal at the Worlds with a gutsy stretch run. In July, he made his first Olympic Team - again using a gutsy stretch run...won first U.S. Championship at 1989 Junior Nationals.
