Biography:
Donovan Bailey began running for Canada in 1994. Since then he has become one of the world's greatest athletes. His most proudest achievement occurred in 1996 at the Atlanta Summer Olympics when he pulled another steller performance, this time shattering the world record in the 100 meters. This moment erased the Ben Johnson tragedy and reclaimed Canada's track and field prestige. Donovan continued by empowering the 4x100 relay team to a gold medal bringing the Americans winning streak to an end. This is a fan site to this Canadian athletic hero. On Monday, August 06, 2001 Donovan Bailey said goodbye to track for good and retired at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton after finishing sixth in his 100-metre semifinal at the world championships.
