| 1912-1963. An active member of the Greek resistance, doctor Lambrakis was elected Member of the Greek Parliament in 1961 with a coalition of leftist parties. A firm supporter of world peace and human rights, he organized the Marathon Peace March in 1963. He was murdered by rightwing fanatics in Salonica the same year. |
